1) Tie a line off using an improved knot. Pass the end of the leader string via the eye of the fishing hook until you have 8 to 10 inches (20 to 25 cm) of loose wire on the open end. From here, loop the wire around your finger multiple times, keeping your finger inside the loop.

2) Wind the path around itself for 4-5 turns around, then make up an eye-loop at one end and thread it through a finger loop. Pull the last long until it’s nice and tight.

2. Snap a bobber onto your line

Position the bobber so that the hook is about the same distance from the surface as the distance between the bottom of the water and the surface.
