If you’re like most people, you probably take your AirPods for granted. You wear them in your ears all the time, never thinking about the battery until it dies. But what if something happened and you couldn’t charge them? Wouldn’t it be great to know how much battery life you have left so that you can plan your day accordingly?
How to Charge AirPods
If you’re like most people, you probably don’t want to take your expensive AirPods case off just to check the battery. Luckily, there’s a way to do it without taking the case off!
Open the AirPods case and remove the topAirPods. Plug in the AirPods charging cable into the AirPods lightning connector on the left side of the device. Press and hold down the power button for about 10 seconds until you see a “low battery” warning onscreen. Release the power button and look at the center screen of your iPhone or iPad to see if your AirPods have lit up red.
If they have, your battery is low and you’ll need to charge them before using them. If they haven’t lit up red, your battery is fully charged and you can continue using them.
Tips for using AirPods
If you’re not using the AirPods case, it’s important to periodically check the battery life to make sure they’re still working well. Here are a few tips for doing this:
-To check the battery life, open the AirPods app and tap on the three lines in the top left corner. This will show you a list of your devices and their battery life. If your AirPods are not listed, tap on “Add a Device.”
-Once your AirPods are listed, scroll down to see the battery life for each pod. The green dot indicates how much battery is left. The blue dot indicates when the AirPods will run out of juice completely (about one hour).
-If you need to charge your AirPods, make sure you have a charging case or plug them into an outlet when not in use.
How to Unpair AirPods from Your iPhone
If you’re one of the unlucky ones who was unable to successfully unpair your AirPods from your iPhone, don’t worry. There’s a way to check whether or not they’re paired without even having them in possession.
To begin, open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap on Bluetooth. If AirPods are currently paired with your iPhone, they’ll appear under “Devices” and will have a green dot next to them. If they’re not currently paired, they’ll appear under “Paired Devices” and won’t have a green dot next to them. To unpair AirPods from your iPhone, simply locate them under “Devices” and tap on the red “X” next to their name.
